Lockdown Photos

Smith Family - Annice, David and children Annie and Lucas.

This is an historic time when families are not just apart but unable to get close to each other even if they live close by. So it is also a time when photographs of parents, grandparents, kids and even pets become hugely important now and when we look back on them in the future.

Whether you live in Steinish or Sheshader, Plasterfield or Portvoller, you are invited by Point and Sandwick Trust to have your photo taken on your doorstep, at your window or in your garden.

The photos will be made available for you to download free of charge, if you agree to take part in the project by allowing your photos to be published on the PST and SandiePhotos website and social media. You will get the chance to approve the photos first. The images will be put in a forthcoming PST virtual exhibition showing the resilience of residents of Point and Sandwick area in lockdown.

Anyone in isolation can be photographed at their door or through a window. Why not invite loved ones to be in the photo too?  Social distancing rules will apply.

Using her professional camera equipment, while keeping in line with social distancing, Sandie Maciver of SandiePhotos will be doing posed as well as fun shots of households coping in lockdown. You will get then get images, both in colour and in black and white, to freely download by password-protected link which you may also share with family and friends.

This is not the best of times and hopefully we will never go through it again. But let us remember what it was like and who was with us during it.
